So I’ve used a few tri wetsuits in my time, but I was thinking recently if there’s anything I’d change about the design most of them follow. Now this is likely a pretty silly idea, but hear me out, what about a wetsuit that used the neoprene rubber exterior of most tri wetsuits and used it as the interior as well?
It makes sense from the standpoint of races, taking something like that off while on the clock would be a nightmare, not to mention the sweat, but there are scuba and spearfishing wetsuits made like this. From what I’ve heard at least, they’re supposed to be a lot more flexible, comfortable, and great at heat retention, but they’re all tend to be 4mm+ and aren’t generally one piece.
Even with the cons though, I do honestly think that a triathlon wetsuit made with all standard specifications except a neoprene rubber interior would be great for training, especially during cooler months. Once again, I’m not saying this would be a good idea for actual races.
Does anyone know if something like this exists already or if this is just a ridiculous idea? I assume the latter because I had to finally stop lurking here and create an account because I couldn’t find anything on the internet about this, but I’d appreciate any response.
