I’ve been riding my computrainer for years and it works fine with Zwift but I really like the old Racerrmate software, especially the feature where you can ride against your own previous rides. Unfortunately my old Windows 10 computer is about to become obsolete and I can’t seem to move RacermateOne over to my new PC. I copied all the files over but it wants me to register and my original CD and key are long gone. All the sites where you can download RM are long defunct. RM still works on my old computer but apparently I’m SOL on the new one. Anyone know anything about this?
That’s way to hightech for me.
I have this thing called a bicycle.
I use that.
People use PerfPro with their Computrainers. It’s similar to the RacerMate software. We still have a local Computertrainer center that hosts weekly group workouts with it.

I have a detailed solution for this but it’s recorded on microfilm and and my microfiche reader bulb burnt out. Anyone have a bulb for a Micron 770A Microfiche reader?
But seriously, the race-against-yourself feature is actually a thing on Zwift…
I was like you and resisted the change till 2021 (I think it was a driver issue from computrainer and I finally gave up) and got a Wahoo Kickr and ride on Rouvy because it is kind of an upgraded version of CT and I can ride against myself or against riders who have times around the times that I did (so I generally download 20 riders who are +/- 1 min of my time so I always have someone to ride with depending on how good or bad I feel. I don’t do any live racing, just racing against all these virtual bots as well as virtual me.
I have Perfpro downloaded but I haven’t really got into it. I’ll look closer
If Zwift let you ride against your last several rides you’d have something. But always going against your 90 day PR is kinda frustrating. Especially if you were drafting during the PR and alone the next time
On Rouvy they have an option of 90, 70, 50, 30 percent reality level. If you ride at 90% it makes every hill that is 10% grade 9 percent. I have asked them to allow for user selectable reality levels. When I ride against my PR at 100% reality level, it is often way harder, but 90% is way too easy, so I blow away my PR and its not even a “competition”. Ideally I could set it to something like 95-98 pecent reality level by entering the number. This would be easy for them to program.
When I used to be a ST rider, I would just set the pacer (metal man as I used to call him) at whatever average watts I wanted for that day’s ride…180, 193, 202, 243, 256…whatever, and I knew I would toast him up the hills and he would kill me on the downhills as I spin out.
But literally that was the best feature in computrainer!!! Does Zwift have that? I just use Rouvy which does not.
There’s no drafting in zwift on a tt bike
Zwift kind of has that. It has a setting where you can change the trainer difficulty, so at 100% the trainer resistance supposedly simulates reality, but at 0 there are no resistance changes on the trainer. It doesn’t impact the speed of your character though
Oh man that brings back memories. I managed and coached at the first power based cycling studio in NYC where we used computrainers and pucks for cadence sensors. We blew through all of the courses and found out that racermate was never completed by the company that was contracted to develop the software. If you haven’t already, you may see half of your avatar disappear into the road or the road disappear. Tough to keep that software running on old PC’s.
