Target Training in CT - might be an option. Placid Planet bikes in Lake Placid … but it’s a long schlepp … which of course if you did make the trip, you can get some incredible rides in while you’re there.
Did you do a search here on ST. Once they have your money you are screwed!!! I will never step foot in that store again!!!

if you have some free miles you could buy a ticket to kona and maybe somebody on the pier this Saturday would help you out…from what it seems tons of pros and bike reps will be there…but thats just a loooong schlepppp…just saying
PS. Just checked out EnduranceWerx and I know Chad - he’s very good. I would definitely recommend him also.
I recently got a p3 Cervelo from SBR and got fitted and was happy with the Bike fit. The Fitter was very nice and was easy to talk to, and knew the answers to most of my questions. I am a experienced rider and felt like I benefited greatly from the bike fitting. Would recommend it, no reason not to.
Interesting that both you and the poster before you just registered today and only have one post. I’m not going to accuse anyone of anything, but it does seem a bit suspicious.
lol I did the same thing!!! seemed a bit odd that suddenly 2 positives out of no where.
I moved to NYC last year and SBR is NOT where I would go. In addition to the places mentioned, Strictly over the GWB is another option I have heard good things about for fitting.
On this note, EnduranceWerx shares space with IFYXBYX, which does tuning. Mark Purdy is the tech, and while he isn’t cheap he is one of the only guys in the city that I would trust to do absolutely anything bike maintenance related.
Also want to note that SBR is super convenient, has good selection for the city, and MOST of the guys that work there are good people. I buy nutrition and odds and ends there frequently and have nothing against the shop, I just wouldn’t recommend them for a fit.
I got a Retul fit through Toga Bikes. Wil Alvarez was the guy who helped me out and he was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommend it. After the fit, I was able to go 2mph faster on my bike split and also felt better on the run.
Not directly related, but I stopped making any large purchases at SBR once I found out they have a store-credit-only return policy.
I sent them an email asking why they had that policy, and that I was disappointed when I discovered I was unable to get a refund for a certain purchase. They didn’t even bother to reply.
I try my best to support my local shops, but with that policy I’ll take my business elsewhere, thanks.
besides central park, you should try biking on 9W when you settle down here in the city. most cyclists, on weekends, bike up the west side and take the george washington bridge over to the jersey side and travel to piedmont, nyack or further. it’s a great ride with some nice hills.

Thanks for this! It’s probably especially a good idea as prep for riding it during IMNYC.
Agreed. Chad and Mark are good people. I worked with both of them at Cadence Cycling and Multisport until it was shut down. I highly recommend them both, Chad for the fitting, coaching and testing and Mark for wrench work. Mark just put together my Speed Concept and did a great job.
BAM! Great detective work.
In my experience, pretty much what you can expect from SBR.
The interesting thing is that this was NOT a “Bash SBR” at first; people were just saying not to get the fit there, without being mean about it. Only after someone created two accounts and posted fake reviews (within 2 minutes of each other) did the SBR-bashing begin. They shot themselves in the foot for no reason, which is a HUGE indicator of their general business savvy.
