Couldnt find anything recently and definitive about what is going on with them (Ergomo) in terms of support and representation. I have been “looking but not buying” yet into power meters and that was one of the names on the short list. Since the issue of support and warranty with an expensive electronic device is to be taking into account, anybody has any info on them or who handles their US business or everything needs to go overseas…
I think I heard someone or read somewhere they might assign a new US distributor, does anyone knows?
From what I’ve heard Fit is no longer in the picture for whatever reason…that leaves no distributor to provide service in NA.
Contact Mike at mike@ergomo.com
He has been super about fixing my issues - FIT Multisport is the new N. American distributor and technical group.
On the wattage list, someone posted an email supposedly from Ergomo that indicates they have filed for bankruptcy. I guess they ran out of suckers (customers and distributors).
The German parent company of Ergomo has just filed for insolvency proceedings.
Too bad - I feel sorry for their creditors, customers, and the original inventor.
No sympathy from me if people don’t do their homework before spending their money.
Not sure why any ergomo users haven’t responded to this so I’ll do it on everyone’s behalf…
Why do this sort of malicious post? Ergomo owners are possibly going to end up in a servicing rut with money down the drain & employees may lose their jobs - yet we have this disappointing & hostile response.
I bought an ergomo 2 years ago and aside from ISIS spline problems (of which I blame the ISIS design not ergomo) how naive of me not to use my psychic skills to predict the German company would be in trouble in 2 years time….
Best to keep this kind of thought to yourself, like I probably wish I had done before replying.
They apparently filed for chapter 11, but that certainly should not mean the end of Ergomo. So this is not doom’s day.
Other companies have declared chapter 11 and are doing quite alright these days.
While that is true, not always the case. Came across this on another site. Sounds like they are in serious need of some $
begin copy of email:
Hello All,
as you may have heart ergomo is going through real rough waters
presently.
A major investor in ergomo is pulling out off our business and sales
are
quite disappointing.
We are looking for investors and help but presently the chances are
quite high that we will be forced to stop our business.
In any case we want to thank you all for your support in the past for
our company and ergomo !
We still hope that we will be able to prevent the closing of the
company. It was and is lots of fun to work with you all but things are
extremely tight and difficult right now !
If you know someone who is interested to talk very soon with us about
a
possible solution or help it would be greatly appreciated !!!
All the best.

I agree, sucks for everyone involved. I still do not understand why shimano or sram etc. do not develop/buy/license some power technology and sell grouppo’s/cranksets with integrated PMs. Maybe the expiration of some patents will make this happen in the near future.

I’ve wondered the same thing. Maybe it’s just not worth it to them? If they were to have something like Quark is making, now that’d be cool!
