I hope we are all mature enough for me to ask this question and explain why.
Sooooo… do any of you males wear women’s tri and running clothing? The reason why I ask this… it seems that the measurements for women shorts would better fit me, because of my short legs (26" inseam) and small waist.
If you do wear women’s tri and running shorts or if you know because you are a woman… are there any difference in the crotch area that would make things uncomfortable?
My wife would flip if she knew about this one… she about divorced me when I told her that I piss myself during races…
A few years ago a team I was on found out that if we ordered just one gender for all our gear we could save money. So, being 6’4" 205lbs I ended up with Xlarge(maybe XXlarge) shorts. They were a bit tight in the crotch area. I still use them for pool swimming but it is a constant fight for comfort and other issues.

I’ve worn women’s tri shorts for my last 3 races (2 olympics, 1 sprint) and have had zero problems. I got them on a race morning after ripping my normal shorts - they were the only ones in the bike-shop tent that fit. Nothing shows that shouldn’t, and everything fits. The padding is appropriate as well. Plus they match my top. So I’ve continued wearing them.
I heard about someone wearing a women’s speedo fastskin bottom that they found in the bargain bin for $20. They like it so much they bought 2 more of them. I heard the crotch thing was different, but not really a big deal. I also heard he was asked one time, if they were women’s bottoms.

When I freedive with seals in a black wetsuit I look like a seal to a myopic shark. Like that guy OW training some years ago off California that got bit in half. So I’m wondering if a Pink or Neon wetsuit would be safer.
A few years ago, I did a Scuba class on Sat with some women, the next day, I went wreck diving and grabbed one of their suits by accident. Realized the mistake I’d made on the boat. It wasn’t comfortable but it stretched.

ha, I got a pair of running shorts the same way, couldn’t even tell they were womens until I got home and my wife saw the “W”. Worked just fine but a big baggy on the sides, that liner stretched out too fast so they didn’t last long.
There are shorter mens tri shorts out there, just takes a little more looking. I have a pair of Zoot 6" inseam tri short for men. Size small works for 29" waist.
