Any men out there like the Blackwell saddle?

After Tom’s post about top gear picks (he mentioned that women love the Blackwell saddle), do any guys have it and like it? Do you ride steep or slack? I’m still in the search of “the one” for my tri bike. I have an SLR at the moment; I like the overall shape, but could go for more padding/width up front- I’m considering the SLR T1. I used to have an Aspide Tri (it was okay), and an Arione Tri (hated it- slopes up a bunch at the rear, I slid forward a lot… the nose didn’t agree with me and ‘the boys’ went numb).

Hate to do it, but I’ve gotta bump this one to the top…

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I was wondering if anyone out there (male) has tried this saddle and would be willing to share their opinion. Even a detailed run down by Tom would be nice. I read a pretty detailed review of the SSM Azoto a while back on the bikesport site, but didn’t see anything about the blackwell on his site. Heck, I’m sure JohnCobb has ridden it :-). Even his input would be appreciated. He’s surely got to have more to say about it than the short blurb on the blackwell website.

Greg,

Blackwell has a few saddles, one has a cut out and one well let’s just say it dosen’t have a nose. I think John Cobb certainly thinks outside the box which is great for us as he makes his ideas into products, we reep the choice of being able to use them. I have ridden on both of the saddles only for short rides and found them to be very comfortable. I have an original flite seat that is 15 plus years old, it either fits me great or I have become accustom to over the years so I am not currently riding a Blackwell seat, yet I will give one of them a try in the near future. For now my butt and the other parts of me are happy on the seat I have and I know some people who hate my seat, which brings me to the opinion of if you are not comfortable on the seat you are using or you would like to try something else then Blackwell seats are certainly worth trying. Small shape and padding design differences can be huge. Take for example Dan’s seat design basically provides for a large flat nose to rest everything on and some people love them, on one of John’s designs it has no nose so that everything touches nothing. I believe both designs are trying to accomplish the same thing, yet more than likely both will not suite everyone.

Bottom line they are worth the test ride,
