I am currently trying to decide on the best BB86 BB option to use. I like the idea of BBInfinite and am wondering if anyone hear has used them for a full season yet and can comment on their reliability, did they never creak, etc.
Also considering HAWK Racing, which is quite a bit less expensive and tests well. Don’t know how well those last either. The bike will be seeing huge miles this year.
That was my original intention, until I received the BB. Although billed (and depicted on the website) as having ABEC-5 AC bearings, it only has that on the drive side. Non-drive side is ABEC-3. (It’s BBright GXP.) That threw me a bit, as have the subsequent explanations I’ve received from Wheels.
Yes, it was. As were the multiple pictures of the BB displaying ABEC-5 AC bearings on both sides. And the description of the BB as AC. And the box that it came in, which lists ABEC-5 AC.
I sympathize. The first Quarq Riken ALs were not specific as being BBright compatible or not (for the BB30 version). Because they changed the NDS crankarm spacing on the BB30/GXP cranksets the BB30 versions were no longer BBRight compatible, making it the FIRST Quarq BB30 unit not compatible with BBRight.
Once this was pointed out to them they updated the verbiage on their website…
