Just wondering if anyone on here follows or visits any running specific forums?
Thanks

letsrun.com is a big one. You can find some helpful information on there, but just like every other internet forum, you have to wade through a pile of “expert” opinions first.
As the previous poster mentioned, letsrun.com has a lot of very good information, but you have to wade through a lot of junk. It can get really harsh over there, but it’s funny as hell. forums.runnersworld.com may be worth a peek as well as kickrunners.com.
There is a locked thread on top with really good training info from Renato Canova, John Kellogg and many others.
Otherwise, get on your boots and start wading
I visit two, one of which is RWOL. The other…well, I’m pretty sure we stopped actually talking about running 6 or 7 years ago, so it’s not all that relevant
www.coolrunning.com has a variety of forums and plenty of race listings.
As said many many times already, Letsrun.com is probably THE premier running forum. You will occasionaly run into some elite athletes and coaches on there. There are some real gems over there, but you really really have to wade through a lot of BS and dig dig dig. I once got a copy of two years of Steve Scott’s training logs back when he broke the American record in the mile.
The locked links at the top are very good.
BTW, when people say you have to wade, you really have to wade. The forum is quite full of rude obnoxious teenagers who don’t know anything. It is largely unmoderated and people don’t have to register their names, so any time you post you’ll have to expect a host of immature and incredibly unwitty retorts of the “yer a dummy” genre.
TheRunZone.com isn’t a decent place to grab some info, but theres not a whole lot of activity over there. Its run by a coach who is, more or less, the grand pubah…kid of like Gordo’s old forum. You go there to ask him for his opinion and get his his answers. Nothing more.
Letsrun.com - just beware of the nasty people
runango.com - refugees from RW forums
.
Appreciate the responses.
Hal Higdon has a very good one, mostly marathon and half marathon biased though.
His training plans are a good jumping off point, if you are looking to get into it.
I remember that. It was Matt McCarron, who works with the adidas athletes now, who posted that.
He brought it in to work one day and we were looking through it. Amazing stuff. He spent a LONG time transcribing that to post on letsrun.
We are not good enough for you?
