Any experience with black bibs road suit?

Curious if anyone has tried the black road suit by the black bibs. I have access to some good kit from verge through my club, but I didn’t have enough foresight to order a speed suit with pockets in time for a solo thing I want to do on June 13 (trying to go 5hrs solo century). I’ll likely just wear race fit jersey and regular shorts, but if anyone is extremely happy with the black road suit I may consider that additional marginal gain

I’ve owned/used black bibs stuff and verge. I would say for a ride over 2-3 hours or so the black bibs stuff would not be as good. The pad seems to break down after a couple hours. I think verge has a better product.

Thanks for that feedback! Definitely a very objective take. I’ve seen such mixed reviews on black bibs stuff with people either loving them or hating them. I think I’ll settle with the regular jersey and shorts since I won’t get the verge kit in time for my ride (I have verge skinsuits for CX that I use if I want to go on a faster short ride but I need pockets for a century). I’d rather be comfortable and not as aero if the black bibs stuff doesn’t last well for long rides. Thanks again!

I have only had good experiences with the black bibs items that I’ve had - I’ve done many marathon MTB races, and long road rides without any issues in their bibs. They have lasted me several years of weekly use without problems. They do have two different chamois pads (the regular and “ultimate”) - it might be worth inquiring as to what is in the road suit (the website doesn’t appear to say). I find that for a TT position, the pad in the regular bibs is more comfortable than the more substantial pad, but I prefer bibs with a less dense pad on the TT bike.
