I just recently was given a EW-WU111 as a gift. I have the BT-DN110 battery and 8070 brfiters so everything should be happy.
Installed the wireless dongle between the A and B junctions and updated all the firmware via a hardwired PC connection. The system happily connects to my Garmin via Ant+, but my iPhone cannot connect via Bluetooth.
As far as I know, I should be able to activate Bluetooth by pushing down the button on junction A for 0.5 a sec. The red and green lights blink back and forth as the instructions say they should, but nothing shows up on my phones list for possible Bluetooth devices.

I don’t remember having issues pairing to the iPhone and iPad. One limitation is that the firmware on the EW-WU111 can only be updated using the wireless app.
You need the Shimano Di2 app on your phone to connect to the unit.
Got that. I tried pairing both from the App and from the normal Bluetooth settings. Neither see the Shimano system.
Thanks for the link. Either I didn’t notice it before or I was an idiot, because I didn’t know that you were supposed to click where it said EWWU111.
Might be a recent updated, but I was able update the firmware on the EWWU111 over the hardwired connection from the PC. Having read the horror stories, I didn’t want to do any wireless firmware updates.
While you’re on Shane’s Youtube page, also have a look at his “Shimano Di2 Button Programming” - you can use that to change pages on your Wahoo / Garmin:

Yeah maybe a recent update. But Shimano’s e-tube page still has this:
To use the D-FLY function, the firmware needs to be updated. For Windows version, the wireless unit firmware cannot be updated. To update the wireless unit firmware, E-TUBE PROJECT for tablet/smartphone Ver.3.3.0 or later is required.
I couldn’t get mine to go with Windows the last time I tried. And I agree on horror stories, I wouldn’t update any Di2 wirelessly given a choice.

Agreed. The bluetooth capacity of DI2 seems to be a weak point. I would stick with updating your system via a hard wire link to your PC. Keep it simple… and reliable.
