At my job I’m usually stuck at a desk workstation staring at 4 large monitor screens for 10 hour shifts. Yeah, I can stand. Breaks aren’t reliable. Stumbled across an article discussing under desk cycles. Seems gimmicky, but wondering if it might present a viable option to remaining sessile for hours on end.
This seems to get the best reviews: https://deskcycle.com/
Anyone have experience with one of these suckers or similar?
We had one at my old office, don’t think it really got any use because it felt more like a foot fidget spinner than actual exercise (iirc the crank length was pretty small and it felt really weird in a standard rolling desk chair). We did have a treadmill desk that got more use. Potentially an option if you can do a standing desk.
thanks for reply. I like the foot fidget spinner analogy.
not looking at it as a form of exercise, rather a way to not be a vegetative worker, facing all the reported risks associated with sitting for long periods. treadmill not viable option.
I didn’t get that one, but I did get one after I had open heart surgery.
It worked ok, but the biggest pain is that they slide away from you. So it’s gotta be tied to your chair.
