Any comments on the continental giro tubular?

Just curious since its so much cheaper (relatively)… Anyone race on it?

I’ve never bought a tubular before.

Cheap tubulars really have nothing to commend them. If you were thinking of training on tubulars, maybe these would be OK since they’re pretty stiff and probably fairly durable. I used one years ago for training. But why train on cheap tubulars when similarly priced clinchers are better and easier to maintain? For racing, there are much better choices with much better ride quality. Even Continental’s Sprinter is a noticeable improvement on the Giro and it’s still mainly a training tire. Move up to Continental’s Competition, a Vittoria Corsa or any one of the other higher end tires and you’ll feel the difference. Even the Tufos so much scorned on slowtwitch are light years ahead of the Giro.
