Anyone here use Athlinks.com to track your results?
Any thoughts on their service? It seems like their rankings only use a few races. I tried to see where I rank and it only used 2 out of 9 results and there were a handful missing from their data base.
I tried it, found that there were too many holes in their data and that it wasn’t worth my time to maintain. I did find a few races I’d forgotten that I’d done and I’ve used it to look back at my results a few times when I can’t remember what my PRs are, if they’re actually listed.
I’m on the site, seems like a decent way to track race results.
I think they calculate the rank based on the % of people you beat in your age group. I read somewhere that they exclude anomolies, so if you’re typically around top 20% and another race you’re only top 60%, they’ll exclude the 60%.
I’m not sure how they receive results. I think it’s partially a manual process, maybe you can email them to add some of your races.
I use them. I like to see my race resume.
If more people used it, the database of rankings would be more complete.
It’s also fun to see my latest race get added to the results.
Has spurred me to complete more races than last year and try a variety of different races (trail runs, cycling races, swim events…)
I use it to track myself and to stalk other athletes. Pretty sure anyone who tells you they don’t use it for stalking competition is lying…
How am I doing?
I log on there about once every 6 months. I do sometimes look back at old races and see how the folks around my speed at races are doing. Too lazy to do any earnest stalking.
I use it, but about half of the races I do are too small (<50 people) and so they never bother to add them to the site.
Even if I fill out the form, they rarely go in.
Oh well, I’ll still use it to stalk competition! Ultra signup is getting better and better, but it is run only… And still mostly trail races.
I use it to track my races in one place. I spend months last winter working with them and race results for the last 20 years to get them on their system correctly.
