.
Looks nice, although the fork looks like an after thought and not visually cohesive with the frame. I did think it looked very nicely co-ordinated with the new zipp wheels with their white decals on the Giro coverage last night.
Any news on my frame, Tom? Still on schedule?
bike makers take notice: i would buy a bike just like that. no glossy paint, no big logos, just a nice stealth frame with a little ‘vroomen-white design’ on it.
i love my soloist, but i think it’s got ‘cervelo’ written on it about 9 times. if i were sponsored by them, ok, but otherwise. . .

Tom,
Which member of the team is going to be riding it? In other words, who’s bike is it? Who rates enough to be the first?
Remember, this is a developmental prototype (I think!?!), not a bike for retail.
I didn’t know you bought a frame from us. You know the bike business: Since delays are normal, everything is always on schedule…
Yeah, the R2.5 that you are fitting me for on the 17th next month. That’s when Bryce and I am booked in according to Mike O, please confirm.
Ziebrieski(sp?) has been riding it in the Giro.
Not to disagree, but the recent Cervelo email newsletter said it was initially earmarked for Christian Van Velde. But due to some finicky back issues, he only rode it a short time and went back to his regular bike. The email said Schleck would ride it instead, but obviously things have changed. Nice write up about it. Supposed to be available this fall, $3000-$3500 USD for the frame. Needs an Easton fork, matte finish.
I don’t know about the press release, but Ziebrieski(sp?) has definitely been riding it in the Giro this week. This very fact has just been commented on by the Eurosport commentators as he led the lead group in front of 5 CSC riders on r2.5s.

Hey Greg, how were you able to post the picture like that? The Cyclingnews website does not allow me to right click on the image and get the image address to be able to post it.
Must be your system.
I much prefer this photo.
I think Mike O’Donnell is working on this. I don’t know if Cervelo is delivering R2.5s, I know none are currently available.
Realisitcally, it is absolutely, positively 100% impossible for us to guarantee delivery on these. It’s up to Cervelo.
if you use firefox 99% of the time you can right click no problem, if not just do a ‘view page source’ and get the URL from there (it’s going to be in an IMG SRC tag), if the site doesn’t block by referer you can link it from here.
That is the sexiest frame ever!
Frames should come with a no paint option.
Hi Jules, still here keeping an eye on your posts. Hopefully Cervelo will come through (at least Gerard posts here) for the hopeful delivery (probably by stork). Incidentally sangria tastes like mulled wine (but cold). It took me 2 litres worth to work that one out…
I’ll pm you will an update on the situation, such as it is. 2 litres,eh? That’s gonna make your run interesting!
I will eBay everything I own to obtain this bike… I will possess it!!!
When the relese date? or month.
I don’t know about the press release, but Ziebrieski(sp?) has definitely been riding it in the Giro this week. This very fact has just been commented on by the Eurosport commentators as he led the lead group in front of 5 CSC riders on r2.5s.
Christian Vandevelde rode it Sunday, on Monday Bjarne Riis and Carsten Jeppesen (Team CSC’s equipment manager) rode it, yesterday Frank Schleck rode it (and had the honor of the first crash on a Soloist Carbon). I haven’t yet gotten any feedback today and I didn’t see any footage so I am not sure who rode it but I’ll take your word for it that it was Zabriskie.
I saw the crash but it looked like only the Euskali rider came out badly. Gerard, how frequently do R2.5 limited editions come out? Or is HT’s 2004 a one off?
