I’m adding another bike to my stable later this year to replace my old training bike (a giant OCR '02). I fancy the black S Works E5 bike all draped in black stealthy componentry but I’m also tempted to try a softride qualifier as a training bike as well. I’m curious but I’m concerned about durability bearing in mind I’m a 87kg bike monster. Geometry I’m not as concerned about since I already have a full carbon Kuota Kailbur tricked out for Tri and a Giant carbon TCR for my road racing duties so it’s more about choosing something that can handle my weight and training (Oly distance).
UKGM, if you are big, and want durability, and want a beam bike…you must at least consider a Titan Flex. It has a beam option that is rated for riders up to 138 kgs.
What is your bodyfst percentage? If you were over 10% at your last check I would suggest losing some weight prior to buying a softride as any ballooning in weight will affect the loading on the beam and carbon splinters hurt!!
Good luck at the therapist’s, don’t forget to mention your Carbon fixation and talk through the bikes hung on the wall in your bedroom, that girl was right 4 is just not natural!!
You got to change your strap line. DEATH FROM BEHIND is not the sort of phrase you would want your mother (or Father) to hear, it might open up a few questions!!!
