We have this now with the current rules. Again, it is not the untrained triathlete who is dying in the swim. It is the person who will not wear a wetsuit or shorts because of restriction on age group awards or WC slots. At least we’re over the ‘wetsuit is too tight’ comments that use to permeate these discussions. Unfortunately we’re not over the ‘train more in the swim’. The young lady, Mara, at IM Texas was a very good swimmer.

replied in the other thread about the same (general) topic - I have the same issue with not wanting to see what is underneath me. You would think it would go away or subside after 15 years, but just have learned to adapt and manage it.

Stick to color runs and local YMCA 5ks if the swim scares you, Mary.

If you think that’s the primary reason and that’s the solution, you have no clue what you are talking about.
