Does anyone use Amino Vital as their sports drink?
It is the only powder high in BCAA…
I have been using it for 2 years for training and Sprint & Oly tris & do like it.
I have tried Accelerade and don’t particularly like it. Cytomax is ok.
Is AV sufficient to use? For a HIM? or is my body missing out on other necessary “ingredients” etc found in other powders?
There are so many drinks out there…
Do people mix different powders ie: AV + Carbo pro or Cytomax ??
I use AV and it’s pretty good. It is mixable with CarboPro if you need it. I usually eat EFS Liquishot on the bike so I just drink the AV. The problem is the more you mix the less water you are getting so I try to no over do it with powder in my bottles and use more gels. Seems to be better hydrating overall.
I swear by the stuff. Whatever the carbo recipe is I find it agrees with my stomach (unlike many of the other brands), isn’t gassy, and doesn’t have a strong taste. Additionally the BCAA’s act like a protein source, so it has Endurox like properties but is easier to digest.
I mix it about 5x strength and sip on it for long events. I can carry almost all of my calories for IM in a couple of bottles and grab water from the aid stations.

i’ll stick with AV for my westchester half next week (I mix it with a little bit of V8 mixed berry juice) & take my gels & cliff bloks as planned.
I’ll experiment with other powders & mixing it with carbo pro etc at a later date.
