Being a loyal viewer on YouTube of Desfit, Chase the Summit and of course DC Ray, their reviews of the latest Amazfit T-Rex 3 and now Active 2, really get you thinking if they might be the next Coros? I just ordered the Active 2 for a daily smart watch. I will stay with a chest strap, being an old school guy. Anyone else using or thinking of testing this brand.
The Active 2, for $99, is insane. A really nice daily smart watch, training, make a call. I created a route in Map My Run, imported it, a count down in yards to the next turn and as I approached my first turn, it said in 40 yards, make a left. For my simple training, I rally don’t need a $4-500 watch. HAs maps, music, which I don’t need, barometric pressure. A great back up watch if needed. Has the health data, sleep, stress, etc etc.
Loyal Garmin Forerunner 265 user. Also love Garmin and Wahoo bike computers. I have been playing with the amazfit Bip 6. I paid $71! Will it replace my Garmin? No. Does it record my training data as well,as my Garmin? Yes!!
Large format, square shape like an Apple watch. Amoled display is super bright and vibrant. 11 day battery life.
Pool swim, outdoor swim, run, bike and a lot of others.
Does not have “triathlon” or multisport mode. Doesn’t connect with Garmin connect of course but has its own software that is similar. Not sure about power meters, but I don’t connect my Watch to a power meter anyway. Amazefit has free training plans.
Very Impressed with Amazefit. Flawless performance for the average age grouper.
I have to agree, triathletes need to be aware of this brand and not just Garmin, Wahoo, Coros etc. A very nice single sport training watch, pretty smart, interesting health readiness data, and for the price, people might think it is too good to be true. The YouTubers review of the T Rex 3 was another one of those, how much is this watch LOL!!
I went with a GTR mini for like $65 and it has a ton of features. More than I could use/want. The drawback for me was it couldn’t connect via bluetooth to my head unit for heart rate display. Gave it to my daughter and she uses it for her daily workouts, tracking, other features and has no complaints. I liked the watch, not too big for an activity tracker, native gps function was key for run tracking data without having to bring my phone. Many of the cheaper units have gps via a phone connection which was a non-starter for me. It has lots of custom screens for seeing just what you want… Worth a look if you don’t need the remote bluetooth connection to another device or maybe it was just my head unit.
I believe my Active 2 will transmit my HR to another device. The audio summary of splits on autolap would be great for running race and no looking at the watch.
Android offers some cool voice to test and custom text messages. Not too disappointed but that would have been cool. For $99, ST’ers should look into this and if not, send it back to AMAZON. Sleep data is ok, matching or close to a smart ring of an unknown brand. Bought the ring, to replace my wedding band, that was fitting to snug
