All These Races In One Season?

I will have 3 years of olypic distance racing under my belt when I will compete in these races. I have never kayaked. I will train kayaking for about a year prior to competing in these events.

I’m in my early 20’s and have not had much endurance training prior to my 2 past years of trainng, with this year being the 3rd.

Do you think this is do-able or am I stupid to consider doing all 3, should I sprewad them out over 2 seasons?

Just wanting to know if these races would be easier or harder compared to an ironman?

Because that motu challenge is likely to last 8+ hours

Hey mate, you’re ambitious! That’s great.

I think you’d be able to tackle all 3 during the same season. Timing-wise, Gold Rush is 5 weeks after CTC, which should be ample time to recover and get your fitness where you want it. If you’ve got massive fitness by then, you could have great performances in both CTC and GR, but if you’re not quite there, count on only being able to go big in one of them (CTC as a long training block, or GR as a warm-down of sorts).

As you’re young and without a huge amount of endurance work, your areas of focus between now and then should be pacing, nutrition, recovery, and your Mental Game. And kayaking ;).

Good luck and make sure to keep enjoying what you’re doing. Get bogged down and you’ll be unhappy in short order…
