Does anyone have experience with this site? Is there anything I should know?
I ran across the site a several months ago and made some inquires about a few products. IME the response back form the “vendors” is late/lacking and when they do they really want bulk vs. individual orders. Some do advertise 1 piece minimums but I never felt comfortable enough to pull the trigger.
I am planning on bulk purchases. I did notice that there were several items still listed for sale and the seller had not logged on in over a year.
Some vendors were definetely more responsive than offers. Good luck.
Let us know if you do try it. I have had no success at all. And that was for farily expensive components in bulk (well above their minimums). I guess it is just the luck of the draw.
There are some massive posts on the roadbikereview forums about people who buy carbon frames from Chinese suppliers on alibaba. There are literally thousands of posts on the subject. It sounds like it pays to do research on finding the right supplier. Even then there is some risk, but also potentially huge savings.
I have some friends that bought Pinarellos from dhgate.com with great success.
I use www.auctiva.com for some of my eBay stuff. Auctiva offers some good discounts for Alibaba if you sign up thru auctiva. I opened an Alibaba account over a year ago but have not ordered anything from them.
