Air travel with the Canyon Bike Travel Bag for Speedmax, any experience?

Dear All,

as a newbie to this forum I hope I have used the search function properly enough, but I couldn’t find any related topics.
Therefore I was wondering if anyone had some experience with Air travel with the new Canyon Travel Bag for the Speedmax?

Reason I’m asking is that I will make my way to Kona in two weeks time and I’m a bit concerned on the size of this thing. It doesn’t even fit in our elevator anymore, so I was wondering if anyone has already been air traveling with it recently and if there where any issues with checking the bike in. (I will fly Swiss from ZRH to SFO and then United from SFO to KOA).

I just upgraded my bike bag from a scicon 2.0 to 3.0 for the sake of better thru axel securing, I have my 2.0 which works great with QR bikes, posted in the classifieds

We are on the same flight:) (flying 28/09).
This bag is a monster but there should be no problem, it is still within the dimension limit for sports equipment. Just remember that Swiss doesnt allow for CO2 cartridges onboard!!

Now - i would worry more about your rental car. You really need a truck to fit that in. For that reason i let it go and still prefer Bike Box Allan. With practice, dismounting the cockpit isnt that hard and i can build my CFR back in less than 25-30mins. With 2-3 flights per year that i do, i just prefer a more manageable case.
