I adopted a pair of kittens in June and discovered this week that my nephew is very allergic to them. I want him to be able to stay with me and be able to breathe.
Are there air purifiers or air filters that will minimize the amount of cat hair and dander? I have electric baseboard heaters so no forced air heating/cooling. I’m hoping some of the pet people here will have experience with this.
Yes, I vacuumed the heck of my place before they came. It is astounding the amount of hair two six pound cats can shed!

I got the couch for the night and my nephew got my room as the cats don’t go in there. Even with a good filter we’ll still likely need to do that next time he visits. I’ll also stock more antihistamines!

my daughter got a cat in April. First cat/dog we have had. several in house allergic to dander.
We bought the MA-14 and put it in her room which is where cat spends vast majority of time (it is pretty confined to our upstairs only). It has worked great, and we can leave it on 24/7 as it’s low noise and/or white noise at nite.
You will be happy. We put litter box in general proximity as well…
A good vacuum makes a difference too. I’m not generally a fan of their overpriced name-recognition stuff, but Dyson is actually pretty superior for pet hair.
My cheap Kenmore isn’t really keeping up! I’ll get the air purifier first then upgrade the vacuum.
