I’d love to hear about your experiences and thoughts on using some of the AI cycling apps that offer training programmes. HumanGO? Spoked? Others?
And if you’ve seen or tried them, I’m curious how well they take account of other training (e.g., swimming, weight training) in devising the cycling part of a training schedule.
I tried HumanGO a couple years ago with high hopes and didn’t have a positive experience with it. It kept prescribing workouts that just didn’t seem right (1h steady state @ threshold) and when you’d question them at tech support they’d reply that it was a mistake to the point that I really lost any faith that there was a rhyme or reason to the programming. It seemed so cool and effortless that you could just schedule your races and let the app do the rest, but it didn’t turn out that way for me. This was a couple years ago too so maybe it’s improved.
Thanks. That’s helpful to know.
Presumably, HumanGO has evolved its algorithms, but who knows?
I’ve been using Athletica AI for about a year, and it seems to be good. Running wise, the workouts are sensible and progressive—it is the longest I have been injury free. Cycling workouts can also now be linked to Velo (I have not actually tried that).
