When im in the aero position for extended times, i get pretty bad pains in my left, upper back. The odd thing is that its only in the left side of my back, never on the right. I know it probably has to do with my position, but what could i do to stop this?
My guess (and it’s only a guess over the net) is that your position is a bit off. Probably you’re too stretched out. Could you put some photos of you on the bike up on the forum? Another possibility is that you’ve got pelvic distortion, sacro-iliac locking and a leg length discrepency on the one side. This is the type of stuff chiropractors deal with. One other way of dealing with this could be to have a spacer put under your cleat on the short leg side by a pro bike fitter who understands this concept.
Can’t offer anything more over the net and as I said, am only guessing. If you were one of my chiropractic patients I’d say to be sure to bring your bike with you on the next appointment.
