Favs, likes and dislikes? This is going on a P3SL down tube.
I passed on the Profile and Arundel due to water push, just not enough and the mouth pieces were lame for my perferences. I like the Virture and Speed Bottle though from that standpoint.
Anyone leaning one way or the other on the Virtue or SB??

Go with the Virtue…it fits in the “crux” much better on a bike like the P3SL. I have both…the Virtue is easier to handle and reliably replace in the cage than the Bonty IMHO as well.
I have the Virtue on P3, drilled out the holes a bit which allows it to sit lower, right in the “crux” as Tom A. has said. Race this past season with it and it works well.
Someone on here mentioned that the Virtue didn’t go very well with the P3 when tested in a windtunnel. It could have been the P3C, but I think the downtube and seat tube are pretty equivalent on the P3C and P3SL? Anyway, you can try to give it a search. Unfortunately I can’t find the post right now.
I read about the Virtue aerodynamics not working well on the P3C (or was it P2C?) on a thread here too. Someone was quoting an engineer from Specialised.
I read elsewhere that the bontrager bottle is hard to remove and a lot of people seem to dislike it.
Reading through all the threads I could find here, I concluded the Arundel Chrono seemed best overall for a P2C so I bought one yesterday. Hope I don’t lose the bottle as they’re expensive.
Are there any major aero differences between the two? I can mount on the Seat Tube of my bike, so the the bottle would be the leading edge on that area. Any big differences there?
I have read that having a bottle on your seat tube can be marginally faster than no bottle at all, if mated well with the shape of the bike. Do the brackets/bottle fit well on a semi-aero (oval) tube?
does the Virtue make the Transition more aero or just have less of a negative effect than alternatives?
thanks
According to what Mark Cote has reported here on ST, the Virtue bottle doesn’t make the Transition any less, or more aero than if it’s not there. So, considering the fact that it allows you to carry fluid without a penalty, that’s a bonus right there.
The only caveat I can think of is that IIRC his testing was “bike alone” (i.e. no rider aboard) and so any interference effects with the rider’s legs “windmilling” about in close proximity weren’t accounted for…
Anybody that thinks the Bontrager bottle is hard to take off or replace, must have the the upper body strength of a 10 yr old girl. I’m a former Kilo rider on the track, and now TT on the road. I use this bottle and this is no issue.

I’m curious as well. I’m also looking for a suitable “aero” bottle for my p3c.
Anybody care to guess at what sort of time savings over 40 km can be expected by switching from a standard round bottle to an aero bottle on the downtube of a P2C/P3C. Aero bottle manufacturers seem to claim from 20 to 40 seconds (depending on the manufacturer), but the type of bike frame is not specified, nor is it clear whether or not these claims were from wind tunnel data for a bike with or without a rider.
I actually came to a revised decision on the aero bottle. Since 40K is my longest distance now I’m sticking with the bottle between the extensions since it’s 100% invisible to the wind behind my hands. I tried a 750ml bottle and that is way more than I would ever drink in a 40K, but it fits up front so the aero bottle idea is toast for me. That way I can make the most of my P3SL and not put anything there but aero tubing:) Something to consider if you are riding shorter distances like me…
