Aero bars that are adjustable

I have the Profile Aerolites at the moment and whilest ok. They pads are pretty uncomfy and id like the arm pads closer to the base bar. I dont want a one piece bar as they have stems that are too long. I have a 60mm stem at the moment and that suits me fine.
Vision are no good as the lack adjustability. What about some of the no name brands like Pro??
Suggestions and/or web links would be very useful! Cheers

I’m not sure what you mean by Pro being a no-name brand, but…

Syntace is always a good choice.

I used to have the C2 Clip, and found it adjustable enough for my fit tinkering.

But if you wanna go with bling, go with Aero-Concepts.

I just can’t take my eyes off of them.

what i mean by them being ‘no name’ is that they arent as used as say profile or vision… no offence to them at all!
If the Easton bars werent so damn exxy id get a set of them
thanks for the links, will have a look now

I’m not affiliated with Pro at all, and was just wondering what you meant by a “no-name brand”. I hope you didn’t take it the wrong way. Anyway, good luck with the search.

Blatant Ad: but the Blackwell Clip-ons are very adjustable, very comfy pads and ergo hand position. They will go as narrow as 120mm. The picture on the website sucks but will be improved soon and I haven’t ever figured how to post pictures here. $129.99

I will independently vouch for Cobb’s Blackwell bars. Very adjustable, very versatile, great construction, very very very comfortable.

Take a look at the Ritchey Proboscus bars (several on ebay right now). Adjust in about every way imagineable.

I use the Oval Concepts A900 bars - to me, they are the ultimate in adjustable. Supposedly, 2800 options for adjustment. I’ve seen lots of places discounting them and this makes them kind of competitive with other bars (they are coming out with a new option to replace the A900).

Good luck in your search.

the oval concepts bars are awesome. i have the A700 aluminum bars and like the ability to adjust the height and placement of the arm rest pads. i have them at the lowest point possible, right on the base bar, but you can add spacers up to 1" for a less aggressive position. if you want you can also switch out the extensions from the provided two bend (which i love for different hand positions, especially during climbing allowing me to slide back in the saddle), but they also have straight, one bend, s-bend, etc. this is the best bar i’ve ever hand compared to profile and syntace bars.

The Oval A900 bar is great for adjustability and it’s stiff as hell. Look for closeout prices on it. I’d go for Johns bar if i was buying again purely because I know he’s put some hours into that thing and it ticks a lot of boxes.

I think im going to go with this option
just need to find a bike shop that stocks them (regional Australia)
the arm rests look very comfy… what are they made from?

Just replaced my VT’s with the Aero-Concept Genesis. I’ve done one 18 mile ride. Nice so far. The pads don’t quite go far enough apart for me, but I’ll make due : )

I am impressed with my Planet X aerobars. Very adjustable. Here’s a shot of the underside showing the adjustability of the extension/armrest width. Pad height, orientation, etc. all are adjustable.

The PlanetX bars look cool. Who carries them in the US?

You can get them direct from Zed Sports in the U.S.

I guess it just depends on how much adjustability you are looking for. I have played with different aerobars for year and have always used a full Syntace front end. Syntace F99 stem (98g) Syntace Stratos Zero (228g) and the C2 (360g) with Tektro RX 5.0 carbon levers (140g). Total weight is 826 grams and fully adjustable.

My new set that I just switched this year is a Syntace F99 stem (92g) Easton Delta Force basebar (204g) HED cliplite w/ carbon S-Bends (285g) and Tektro RX5.0 carbon levers (140g). Total weight of this set up is 721 grams and almost as adjustable. I could go a bit lighter if I cut down the base bars to get rid of the upturn but I like the upturn part.

I like the fact that both options above give me the choice to have whatever length stem I need as well as the ability to tilt the aerobars seperately from the basebar. The Syntace and Hed bars are not as adjustable as some of the others mentioned in the thread but they are still more adjustable that a lot of them mentioned as well.
