I’m looking to add some aero bars on my road bike, but I have a but of a problem. My handlebars are “aero”, as in they’re slightly more elongated than the average bar. The clamp area is of average diameter, but outside that, I’m not sure of the diameter, but it’s certainly increased.
Does any manufacturer make clip-on aero bars that will work on handlebars such as these? I’ll obviously get some new handlebars if need be, but it doesn’t hurt to ask first. I’ll measure the diameter of my handlebars and/or post photos if anyone can help. Thanks!
The enve aero roadbar has a proprietary clamp for clip ons. Some others like the 3T Aeronova have a little wider round section at the clamping area to allow clipons. I used to ride those bars for that reason.
Inov8 makes a set that clip right next to the stem that are mini ITU style. You’ll be on your own for pads, so I got some adhesive bottom ones and stuck that to black Velcro so if I ever take the bars off (say, for a crit or most of the offseason) so it doesn’t look too goofy
I won’t need anything until next year, just hoping that it will work with my existing stem and bars as they are relatively new and I like the setup, there just isn’t currently anything on the market that will work with them.
Got the brand wrong; it’s Origin8. If you’re not doing junior/ITU, it’s fine because they don’t come with a bridge. If you are, you’ll need to be creative to bridge them. You might be able to take the extensions out and slide in full length ones too, not sure what the diameter is for the clamps
I am glad I am not the only one asking for something but then again I have been asking for a solution for 4 years and was told no one was wanting what I was asking for.

I was checking out the 3T Aeronova Pro (aluminum) the other day and they seem ideal to use with clip on bars. 3T even lists them as clip on compatible.
They sure are hard to find for sale and impossible to find used. 3T even lists them as out of stock. I makes me wonder if they are out of production.
