Advice - SRM/705 or SRM/PC7?

About to buy my first SRM system. Could use some advice from fellow ST and SRM users.

  1. Am I missing anything going with the 705 over the PC7 unit?

  2. I haven’t really seen how to mount (without rigging) an SRM head unit to a stem or aero bar (yes I’ve seen a few other posts) without it looking like sh&#, Seems for $1000+ unit it would be easy to mount or offer more than a single mount that requires a perpendicular bar. How are the TT’s doing it? Is everyone just rigging and fabricating their own system? Weak…

Thanks

I was using an SRM with an edge 500. Worked ok, but I need the reliability of the PC7.

why are you limiting yourself to just those 2 computers? what about the 500? or the Joule?

I figured the 705 was the 500 with more options so get the best of the two and to be honest, I don’t know much about the Joule at all nor know anyone personally that has one.

I would go SRM + Joule, If it were me.

Owe, I can get you a sweet deal on the SRM too:-)

Yes he can.

Ironic that I was using the wireless SRM with the PC VI but switched to the Edge 500 because I not only needed something with more reliability after it went blank racing in the rain, but the Edge offers so much more in terms of customization of data on screen and the ability to create user defined power workouts that make interval training so much easier since you no longer have to repeatedley hit the ‘SET’ button on the power control. An added benefit for those in the DIY crowd, if you want to recalibrate your SRM, not only does the Edge 500 make it easier by remaining in the zero-offset mode, after the new slope is calculated, the Edge will update the slope stored in the SRM’s firmware.
