Addicted to PB&J

Is anyone else addicted to a certain food? I notice signs of a true addict. I average about 2-3 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches a day. I max out at around 6 a day. If I havent had one all day and its getting late I feel sick… withdrawl symptoms?

what are you addicted to?

Salad, lately. Spring greens with balsamic vinegarette and feta. Maybe I am anemic, if I crave leafy greens!

That and cocoa with mini marshmallows.

I like pbj too but not every day.

I can’t even keep PB&J in my house any more…

I love me some PB&J every once in awhile. My wife packs my lunch everyday and usually it’s a couple of turkey, chicken or ham sandwiches. Once a week or so she’ll substitute one of the sandwiches with a PB&J as a little change of pace. I love those days.

Ever tried Smuckers uncrustables?

pre-made PB&J, 325 calories each, great to take on long bike rides

Switch to almond butter. It’s better for you. I am also addicted. I go with almond butter, organic jelly, and really good bread. It’s my staple lunch most days of the week.

I’ve now equated uncrustables with long bike rides. When I go down to the freezer where inevitably there is at least 2 boxes of uncrustables I can only think of how good they taste a couple hours into a ride washed down with cytomax.

I’m pretty sure if I’ve ever eaten one at home that fantasy will end pretty quick.

that stuff is like $8 a jar here… is it worth it?

Almond butter, bananna, and blueberry all fruit spred is quite tasty after a longish session. I used to eat PB&J every day, but just stopped for no reason. I eat almond butter now instead, but only 1-2/week. I try to avoid food addiction, but when I get over 20 hrs/week of training I must have a pint of Ben & Jerry’s every saturday night. I also love Steak. A super hoppy IPA is close to an addiction but 1 a day is it as alcohol addiction is something to stay away from I always thought. 1 addiction is enough-exercise.

Depends on how much you value what fuels you and what you put in your body. For me, yes. I pay $12/jar (500g jar).

almond butter is not that much better for you than peanut butter
if you buy the kinds that are just nuts and some salt, they are both good fuel for your active body
although almonds are slightly alkaline and peanuts are slightly acidic, the benefits of almond butter (little if any) are not worth the outrageous amount they charge for the stuff.

i don’t eat anything with peanut butter in it. growing up i never could stand the taste so my mom would make my sister’s PBJ and me just J. so I have never had a PBJ in my life.

I am addicted to chocolate. I never go a day without eating something sweet and chocolate. if I am out of it I will stop by the bakery on my way home from work just to get my daily fix. so far today i have had a hershey candy bar after my long workout and just now after lunch, a box of caramel/chocolates. good thing i spent 3 hours working out this morning…

Talk to Jodi, I think she went through a 12 step progam on her addiction.

I am addicted to the “pink between her legs” (I love that thread)

There aren’t enough steps in the world for my habit…

PB&Honey…mmmmmm
.

PB&J just about every morning for breakfast. I will have to try the uncrustables on the long rides!

I have one everyday at work and I take breaks from them on weekends and vacations! Mine are toasted with crunchy Trader Joe’s PB and organic blueberry preserves on Milton’s multi-grain bread.

I should make one right now!
