You might want to start stocking up on some saw palmetto…yer prostates gonna need some help staying alive!

nah, I used a Selle Italia SLR for MTB racing on a 19 lb aluminum hardtail - 3 hour rides off road with no problems

.

my wife tells me sex appeal is often painful…

as a friend of mine in HS said before our football games “its all about looking good baby”

we then proceeded to use as little protection as possible…lucked out and never got hurt

but yeah, looking good has its price, usually its functionality, or even more times its cost…

that saddle is DAMN sexy…but @ 300+ dollars (CDN), is it worth it?

same question could be asked about zipps over other less expensive, equal performing, not as “sexy” items (ie, renn, although, the new one looks cool) and something like P3 vs the $23000 CDN pinarello montello

Dude, I love San Marco and that Saddle is hot, but I’ve heard about some durability issues with it. I checked one out recently and it didn’t seem as solid as I expected. I suggest you look it over carefully before you use it. It would really suck to drop 3 hunge on a saddle just to have it fall apart. Let us know how it works out.

I have ridden a Flite Evolution for a couple of seasons. 100+ miles is no problem AT ALL. It flexes like the old Brooks saddle at about 1/4 of the weight.

I have two bits of advice:

a) Invest in a QR or equivalent saddle pad. This is not only to give an edge in comfort, but to give you protection in the event of a crash.

b) Repairing is is SUPER simple. Just get some powdered graphite, mix in with household (better yet- extra strength household) two part epoxy, and use electrical tape to hold the broken pieces together. Cure for 48 hours. I would only add enough graphite to “tint” the epoxy grey, not an opaque colour.

I am working on replacing my seat post on my Corima with a custom made seatpost/saddle combo, using a cut-up saddle as a form for the saddle.
