In a discussion, there is often a response (not meant to reflect actual reality, but in fact containing a kernel of truth) like “Why do you hate capitalism?” or “Why do you hate freedom?” Often, this kind of statement is used to point out hypocrisy or inconsistency of a particular position.
WRONG! This is the WORST thing to ever happen in a free capitalist society. Many people are saying it’s worse than all the world’s wars combined, and could lead to WWIII. NUKES!!! TERRORISM!!! COVID!!! Burn it all to the ground!
Hate is just a currently popular word. Many words can be used instead of hate but it is such a strong, aggressive word, full of accusations. If the other side starts to defend itself, its a lost cause already as the accuser won’t accept anything anyway. As soon as somebody accuses you of hating, you can tell that they are not in for a reasonable conversation.
Yeah, except that this phrase, when used in the Lavender Room, doesn’t really mean “hate.”
“Why do you hate capitalism?” means “your position is contrary to the definition of capitalism.” “Why do Republicans hate children?” means “Your position is detrimental to the well-being of children.”
Most who have been here a while know this colloquialism. E_dub has not been here long, and doesn’t know it.
I friggin love to tip. We are staying in one of the summit suites at Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe this week and the butlers are killing it.
We were told that Lisa Vanderpump always stays in #1709. (She has her newest restaurant Wolf across the street at Caesars Republic, previously known as Harvey’s hotel/casino)
