Undoubtedly a counterfeit. Doesn’t mean it’s trash–it could be a close replica and might’ve even been made in the same factory. But keep in mind that you’re not going to get the support and warranty of Cervelo, and you obviously need to be careful about who you’re buying from when dealing with sellers in China, Indonesia, etc. I see in this case they’ve only sold 3 units in the last six months, and they only have 87% positive feedback, whereas good ebay sellers are typically at 99-100%. Even Chinese sellers on ebay have 99-100% ratings. So I’d be wary of an 87%–that’s really quite low.
The point is, these types of websites used to carbon fiber bicycle equipment, some of which looked surprisingly similar in design to well known high-end products. Are they now blatantly labeling their products with Cervelo, Zipp. Fulcrum and 3t? When did this trend start?
I honestly couuldn’t tell whether the Cervelo S5 in particular is a genuine Cervelo product or not by just looking at the pictures.
You can find Pinarello Dogmas, Time RXR ul team etc there. All is either scam and you receive nothing or copies that looks a lot like the originals. Do try not to support this…
There are plenty good chinese carbon frame manufacturers who do not produce frames with the intention to deceive customers. Their prices are also lower than that 700$ fake chinelo
Well, as far as the “Zipp” wheels, the first few that pop up have counterfeit decals (look closely–it ain’t subtle), and the 808FC’s have a clearcoat finish, which the real ones do not.
They may have an older mold or a slightly imperfect one.
The carbon fiber can also be quite different.
For wheels I understand that 4K and 12K weaving can provide rather different stiffness and maneuverability.
I would however stay away from a seller with low feedback and scarce sales as advised by CSU_prof.
Also: no Western Union or cash in the mail. Paypal as much as possible. Safety first.
Some sellers on dhgate and ebay are more reliable and have a track record you can check. These guys will also usually clearly state that the bike is not a genuine Cervélo but a good copy. And it might be as such.
You might also want to look at the finishing and soldering job with pics from THE bike you will buy.
Bike geometry may also differ from what you expect. Get the exact measurements.
Ask away, communicate with your seller but be aware that there are all kinds of ‘imitations’ out there. Some better than others, some are true works of art from small bike builders trying to offer a competitive product to customers on a budget.

They’ve been doing it for a while on some the the real boutique models. Certainly the Chinarello Dogmas have been around for a few years. Does seem to be expanding though, and that Cervelo (from the pic at least) looks a lot closer to the real thing than they typically have done.
We’ve been through this before re: other websites. You won’t even get an S5 copy frame (if there is such a thing). These are scam websites that are set up with the hope that some poor fool will click “Buy” and send them some money.

let’s all play a game. Someone agrees to purchase phony zipps. We all predict if it’s a scam or the wheels are forgeries.
My opinion is you actually get wheels, but fakes. The reason I think that is cause they look fake. They already make fake iPhones, they look a lot like the real thing but absolutely suck functionality wise. Usually in a full out scam they post pictures of actual bikes/wheels.
Their Cervelo S5 is a fake one. Have a look to the rear cable hole. Have a look at the saddle clamp (silver instead of black). There are other small differences. Anyway, these are not fell of truck Cervelo or “fake” made in the same factory. Same things for the other frames: Time (which are only produced in France, nowhere else) and so on.
So beware. Because some don’t hesitate to buy those and sell them as the actual cervelo for the actual price (not the $600 they actually pay).
These frames are not bad, probably even as good as the original. But that’s not the matter here.
Their frame might have some issues (seatpost slipping and so on) as had some of the original Cervelo S3 (but in that precise cas, you had the possibility to complain to Cervelo). So, take the risk knowing it.
Edit : in this ad, there are 2 different Cervelo S5. The first pictures (in the bike store) are the one of an original. The other pictures are the one of the fake. Pay attention to the rear derailleur cable hole and other differences.
