70.3 Valencia results. Two trivia

Nobody cares, but:

  • Jeanne Lehair comes second in her second ever middle distance race (first in 7 years) despite losing 10 minutes on the bike
  • The winner (Daniela Kleiser) swam a 31:14, losing over 6 minutes, but what is 6 minutes in a 70.3 if you run a 1:14 (just edging out Lehair)
  • The men also raced.

Nice to see Ruth Astle finish a race!!

A very random race for India Lee, is she looking for a WC slot?

She had a mechanical on the bike.

Yeah, I’ve been told run was 20.4km and Lee had a ā€˜front brake lever’ fail, costing her 6 minutes but ā€œthe chase was funā€. She finished 3 minutes down but no Marbella slot (which went to #1 and #2, Kleiser and Lehair).

Total domination of the short course guys in the men’s race. Best bike split to Adrien Briffod, but what a run by Vogel!

Schedule in June:

Would hate it to be stuck in Valencia a day after doing a Half-Ironman.

It wasn’t bad. Don’t know about the metro. But outside people were having a good time. Drinks at candlelight. Paying with cash. After a while a part of the city had power restored and restaurants re-opened. I was in a spa when it began. So it took a while before the sauna got cold. I can imagine it wasn’t a good time for everyone. But most of the city seemed to handle it quite well.
