70.3 Swim waves

Since on-site check-in started today, someone who is in Clearwater must know some of the details regarding the swim starts. Is it going to be a mass start, or will there be waves. If there are waves, any idea of how they are divided up? I can’t seem to find this stuff online…

JohnyO–we know you are there, please advise.

I thought read somewhere on the Ironman site that it was 4 waves after the pro men then pro women waves. It didn’t mention how the waves were divided.

Found them, they are now listed in the athlete guide.

There will be multiple swim starts*:
7:00 a.m. – Pro men
7:05 a.m. – Pro women
7:15 a.m. – Age Group Start #1
7:20 a.m. – Age Group Start #2
7:25 a.m. – Age Group Start #3
7:30 a.m. – Age Group Start #4

bump…anyone know which AG wave correspons to which age groups?

Apparently, you only get that information if you paid the deluxe entry fee.

:-p

you coming down for the race?

Tomorrow afternoon baby! It has done nothing but rain buckets all day today. Wet, gray, not all that cold actually, and fugly. Looking forward to some warm air and sun.

Yeehaa!

I’m in 40-44 and they told me I start at 7:20am.

I’m in 40-44 and they told me I start at 7:20am.

Correct. And the 30-39 men go 7:15. I recall that most or all of the women go after that.

Your wave time will be on your registration packet.

Correction: I am racing M35-39 and am assigned to wave #3 that goes off at 7:25…

here s the number for the wave

7:00am pro men 43 athletes

7:05am pro women 32 athletes

7:15am M30-39 426 athletes

7:20am M18-29 M40-44 382 athletes

7:25 M45+ 277

7:30 F18+ 395

the number of athlete per wave is if everyone show up…but we expect like all the time to be missing a few hundereds so it wont be any bigger than 400 for any wave and probably less…

i think it s pretty good …
