Quite a lot of bad crashes as the riders went back into T2 where it had rained more than on the course and the speed made it tough to ride through roundabouts
Svenningson seems to have broken his clavicle (again). He was riding great even faster than Wurf (just like in SAF) Wishing him luck as he seldom gets to race to his potential.
Petersen had 2 technicals and a fall too at a roundabout
Guerbeur who was in the leading group also fell a at roundabout. He got a blue card at Tremblant and again rode pretty close and it somewhat looked like Frisco with lots of potential drafting calls. Guerbeur is a former Duathlon word champ who won Alpe d’Huez tri last year and is not a bad swimmer. He may be net up and coming Frenchman.
Germans had another fantastic day. Mann may not make the headlines but his score is as good as Lionel (on better fields). Vogel became the 13th German to qualify for Taupo. And many of them are young. Next year we may have Noodt, Stratmann, and Mann instead of Frenchmen Chevallier and Mignon (or/and Weiss/Kanute)
As stated in the Pro Series, Mignon and Guilloux both had pretty good results and have jumped up quite a bit in the ranking considering they both had good IM results in the 4600 range. ignon who has 70.3 WC experience showed that he could factor in both distances. Hope he just goes to Roth for the participation fee. He is already taking the T100 money to finance his IM Series expenses, he may as well continue ! As previously stated, Lange, Schuster, Guilloux and Skipper have not qualified for Taupo whereas most other contenders have.
Just wanted to point out that in Matllorca and Les Sables T100 athletes Bogen and Margirier seemed to have the 18 km distance dialed but blew their lead - and actually both ended up 4th ! Just showed that the distance is almost the same, but note quite !
