650c wheels

Looking for a friend… XS frame limits her choice to 650c wheels. She’s looking for deep (50-60) carbon wheels.

I see Enve, Hed and Zipp have pricey new options.
I see Yoeleo (chinese) has some.
I can find a few used sets here and there on ST, Kijiji, eBay.

Most middle priced manufacturers (FLO, Shimano, etc.) don’t have 650c. Any new mid-price solution I’m missing?

Planet X used to do some deep rim 650s not sure if they still do.

We Ebayed a nice set of used HED Jets 6/9s for my wife’s XS Speed Concept and they’ve been great. Set up your Ebay to search every day and be patient.

I just sold my 650C HED3’s.

they are still some of the best wheels out there, particularly in 650 size.

If the new offerings are too pricey, try the used market for some HED3’s

If you are looking for some Chinese Carbon Clinchers I’ve got a pair that I really want to unload

They are OK but not approved for draft legal races and I have a lot of other wheels.

I just sold my 650C HED3’s.

NOOOOOOO!!! How did I not know this! I’ve been looking, without success, for ages!

They went to a good home at least

sent you a PM about my SIL 650 Hed Tubulars
.

I love, love, love my Zipp Firecrest 404s in 650c. Can you get the Firecrest any cheaper now that the Firestrikes are the new thing?

Buy used. You can get great deals since demand is so low.

I agree with this, and still use a 650 H3 front, but bear in mind that finding a 650c tire that matches up well to the rim is problematic.

The Vittoria Open Corsa CX III 21mm is the best (new) tire that I’ve found for that wheel.

I have a set of HED Jet tubulars I’m looking to sell. PM me if interested.

Not to hijack, but what is her size and what bike does she ride? My daughter seems to have stopped growing at 5’2" and we may be looking for a small tri bike. Our kids have raced on mountain bikes and 2nd hand road bikes, but I told them that if they were still serious we’d look at Tri bikes when they stop growing…it appears that time may be here. Thanks,

I agree with the above on ebay deals. There are TONS of cheap 650 wheels and sets. I have an older QR Kilo with 650 wheels, and even though I dont ride it often anymore, I’m constantly being tempted. Nice sets of Zipps or Heads, many with Powertaps, for pennies on the dollar.

If you can email me, I have some for sale. HED front and rear, and a HED Disc.

To all the offers, thanks  I passed the info to my friend, didn’t expect to have that many offers hehe…

She rides a XS (48cm) Trek Speed Concept.

I hate to do it, but I too have a set of HED 650c tubulars for sale, along with a bunch of nicely aged and high end racing tires to go with them. Anyone interested PM me…
