I’m in Toronto next weekend, and would love to do a little swimming in a longer pool. Anyone know of any good ones?
The only one I know of is at the North York Civic Center (Sheppard and Yonge St). Call them for hours since the online stuff isn’t always accurate:

If you’re ever here in the summer, there’s a nice 50m pool in the beaches too.
Etobicoke Olympium http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Detail.cfm?PoolID=5576
University of Toronto - Harbord & Spadina (closest to downtown) http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Detail.cfm?PoolID=7880
Douglas Snow (North York) http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Detail.cfm?PoolID=5483
McMaster University (Hamilton) -but says no public swim - http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Detail.cfm?PoolID=6969
The best of these is the Olympium, U of T is probably the easiest if you are staying downtown and is still a good pool. Douglas Snow is right off the subway but I really don’t like that pool because it gets really shallow and if you are over six feet you worry about hitting your head on the bottom during a flip turn.
Truth be known, Toronto has some of the worst sports infrastructure of this kind in all of Canada. There are only three 50m pools in all of the GTA( Pop - about 6 million) and rarely are any of these pools open for full long course swimming to the public. These three pools are so outdated, for a vareity of reasons, that none of them can host swim meets bigger than a local age-group club meet.
That being said there are a number of 25m and 25 yard pools so all is not lost.
