50 miles race, which is the biggest (finishers) in US?

I would like to run a 50 miles race (not trail)
But I don’t want to be running alone all time.
Is there in 50 miles race in US with +5000 finishers ?

I would wager the JFK-50 as well since it sells out every year and is about 50 years old.

Why aren’t you interested in trail? I’ve done both road and trail and the road was by far harder on my body and took longer to recover. Plus, trail is much more fun.

JFK is a very tame trail race and as big as you will find in the US. If you really want to run 50 miles on pavement consider the Chicago lakefront 50 miler.

JFK is by far the largest, but the first 3rd is on trail and that portion is pretty technical in places (saw a guy break his nose). The last 2/3 is on a flat hardpacked gravel path and rolling road.
