i am racing tomorrow, and thats what the temps should be. would you jsut wear the short/no sleeve tri shirt under the wetsuit or go bare and put on a longer sleeve shirt? there is a chance the air ma be a little colder than that.
I did a race once with about the same temps …the water was a bit colder; 60. I wore my Orca tri-suit under my wetsuit and then took the time to throw on my sugoi long sleeve shirt in T1. Worked well …the sun was out though …so it made it feel warmer than the actually air temp. It did take the first half km of running before I got the feeling back in my toes though …in hindsight I probably would have thrown on some socks in T1.
If it is going to be sunny, little wind and warm up, Iwould wear a tri suit only for racing. I refuse to take the time to put on extra stuff. I am always wearing wetsuit when legal.
Me, I’m not as tough at those other guys so I’d go shirtless under the wetsuit and pull on a dry technical shirt with shoulder coverage in T1. I don’t think you’ll need long sleeves but I can’t see any reason to start the bike in a wet shirt at 50 degrees
This is where I full zip long sleeve, tight fitting top of some sort comes in handy. It can be put on at T1 relativly easily. Knee warmers are another thing that can be pulled on in a matter of seconds.
