4iiii Sensor Rubbing Cervelo P3 Chainstay

So I just installed a left-sided 4iiii power meter on my 2015 Cervelo P3 and the sensor inside of the crank arm rubs on the chainstay as it goes around, it’s probably about a millimeter too wide that is causing it to rub. Has anyone had this issue before? If so is there any way to resolve it? I’ve got the Shimano Ultegra 6800 Crankset.

Any help would be much appreciated on this turbulent powermeter adventure of mine!

Probably not helpful, but I decided to go with a Watteam Powerbeat G2 because of the lack of clearance for either the Stages or 4iiii. It was just too tight of a gap. I’ve been pretty impressed after finally getting it set up, but I don’t know that there is another crank option that will fit. It’s TIGHT as is. Same crankset too btw…

Send an email to sales@4iiii.com it’ll prolly be Brynna or Gerold who will respond. I think it would expedite the process to include an image of crank arm at 3 o’clock with the meter near or touching the chain stay. It might be as simple as a spacer (let’s hope) or as complicated as a new crank arm or reinstall with the meter moved 2-3mm up or down the shaft to clear the frame.

Hang in there, it will be worth it. I have a 4iiii meter on both my gravel and mtb and they have been flawless since day one.

Just sent them an email with a picture demonstrating it attached, hopefully they have a simple solution! Unfortunately I ordered the watteam G3 and ended up returning it earlier this week, but thanks for the recommendation anyways

I’ve been leading the Slowtwitch Coaching clinic on cycling power for 4-5 years now and every year we include a demo from Ofir at Watteam. I’ve loved seeing the progression in his product. If you want one meter for two bikes and you’ve got the patience/skills to do the install he’s got the least expensive powermeter on the market. The install will put some people off (or they could be $100 for them to install it) but once it’s there the swapping from bike is as easy as pulling the cap off a sharpie and putting it back on. I’m impressed!

Hi StokeTheFire, I had the same issue when I initially tried installing a 4iiii 105 on a P5-3. Went onto 4iiiis FAQ and they state here that the PM won’t fit on Cervelo P-series bikes because of the chainstay clash. I went for a power2max NGeco instead.

Just following up on this, 4iiii got back to me the next day. Simple solution is to just throw some spacers on the NDS spindle to achieve the proper clearance. So happy to hear this, looking forward to pumping out some power on this meter!!!

Just checked their website again and right enough it is just a p5 issue only.
