44cm Tri Bike?

I have a friend who is in the market for a new tri-bike. She’s a little thing; 4’11"-5’0. Currently riding a 44cm road bike and wanting to upgrade. I looked at last months inside-tri ‘tri-bikes under $1600’ and it looks like Felt, Trek, C-Dale and Specialized offer 48cm as the smallest available.

Does anyone know who makes a 44cm tri/tt bike? If not, where to go for a custom-made bike? She would like a complete bike…budget is about $3000-$3500.

Thanks!!

I think Guru bikes will make a custom frame for you. But I am not sure. I read someplace that they will charge +$200 for it though (i.e. you say which model you want and they modify the geometry for $200).

She should contact Ves Manderic at Yaqui Bicycles
.

Get a custom Elite Bicycle. Dave can custom build a bike and spec it out with all the parts needed.

My sister in law was in the same boat about 2 months ago, and got a softride classic. With the small frame, she had the shop cutom fit her to it, and then add on pedals, helmet, gloves, riding clothes, and she still came in under $1500. Granted, it was a closeout of last years model, but she loves the ride.
