Anyone here ride their age for a 40 km TT. By that I mean riding 50 minutes at age 50, 55 at age 55, dtc. Its pretty much a benchmark for older golfers and pretty rare.
I can think of at least 2 posters that may have done it or been close but not sure.

No… but I’m pretty sure an intersection will occur in a few years (I hope). I’ll be 53 soon and haven’t slowed down significantly since I started riding again 10 years ago. If I ever get to the point where I’m losing a minute per year , that would really suck…
JackMott is 60?
58?
no I am 35.
Bob Chambers might be our best bet on the forums?
Maybe Carl Spackler in a few years?

I attained that intersection last year and repeated this year (as a 58 year old).

I did 50:47 at our state TT at racing age 51. BUT … it ended up being about 600-700m (as I recall) short of 40k
90% sure nslckevin has done it. (the M50+ 40km record?)

until you get older you can work at running your age in a 10k. That’s a lot easier.
I think we can all agree to allow that.

Anyone do both in the same year? Also pretty sure that john Pattersn has done it (biking) also .

For someone who can ride their age in a 40k TT I would think the running of a 10k in their age would be a walk in the park.
I’m closer to the age where your goal is to ride at an average speed higher than your age. I didn’t get into the sport early enough to do that either though.

He either did last year when he set the masters record or will likely this year.
I’m either a few years or a few minutes away depending on how you look at it.
Definitely a geezers contest though, pretty hard to play if you’re not at least 47
He did it last year by :04 and missed it the year prior by :17 (50:17 when he was 50). In two more years he could probably do it on his road bike.

I think somewhere around age 60 is where this becomes doable for a lot of people… and until old age really takes its toll.
Never thought of that, that will be a cool goal for the next couple of years
