3T Stem on Specialized Transition?

Has anyone installed a 3T Stem onto a Specialized Transition?
The carbon fork of the Transitions has a smaller diameter steering tube. Specialized only recommends their branded stems be used but I see a lot of Specialized bikes with other brand stems.
So is there a shim or something that I need to buy?
I didn’t see anything on the 3T website under accessories nor could I find any information when I Googled the problem.
Thanks in advance for your input.

The Transition simply uses a 1" steerer tube. This was the norm until about 6 years ago when 1 1/8" stuff was introduced. Still makes sense on the TT bike as it allows the head tube to narrower. So, you just need a 1" stem. Tons of companies make them. I don’t know for sure if 3T makes one, but they probably do. Or, you could just buy a 1 1/8" stem and a shim to narrow it down. Easily available from your LBS and it will let you run any stem you want.

I’m off to find a spacer.

Thanks!

your local bike shop can order one from Quality for about $5 or you can get one on line
