3D Saddles vs standard models

Currently using a Selle Italia Watt find it good but not great, had 2 separate fits to adjust position and did see improvements

Just completed a 70.3 and it does start getting uncomfortable after maybe 60-120 mins depending on the course and if I’m in aero permanently or moving around a bit more or indoors/outdoors etc.

Questions is if the standard model is good but not great will the 3D model be a better fit and help extend the length before feeling uncomfortable or am I best trying a different saddle completely, I was looking at a Fizik Aeris LD R3 Adaptive as well as an alternative

I can’t speak as to the comfort of 3d saddle personally but have heard good anecdotal reports on them from a lot of people.

The Fizik Aeris on the other hand is the most comfortable saddle I have ridden in 20 years. Does not matter if it’s hours indoors or 5+ hours on the road

I’m over the moon with my Aeris LD 3d printed saddle. Ordered the regular one as I remember reading that they are both the same hardness rating - but that couldn’t have been more wrong. The not 3d printed one felt like a rock and went back immediately.

The only problem I have with the saddle is the included link only fits one bottle. Oh and one bolt vibrated out  remember to use Locate!

Cheers for the replies, 2 positive reviews on the Aeris. I think I’ll just go ahead and order a 3d aeris LD then :crossed_fingers:

Agree that the non-3D Aries is too firm (haven’t tried the 3D).

I have a cheap ($50) Ryet 3D saddle on my Zwift bike, and have been quite pleased with it. Thought about trying it on my tri bike but haven’t gotten around to it. As with all saddles YMMV. Here’s an example from side-by-side testing: https://youtu.be/kd75Qi-CbYQ?si=HfG2ZELYzxU4Rxlh
