31.6 to 32.4

I want to install a Profile Design Fast Forward seatpost (comes in 31.6) and my bike takes a 32.4. What’s the best way to build up the seatpost to make this work. Problem Solvers doesn’t make an adapter for these sizes. Thompson’s doesn’t move far enough forward.

Thanks

You need a seatpost shim that takes a 32.4 down to a 31.6. Like this… http://www.competitivecyclist.com/product-components/2011-USE-Seatpost-Shim-1138.34.1.html

That’s a start, I was hoping to shim from a 32.4 to 31.6 but those go from 32.4 to 27.2. Now that I think of it, Profile Design does make a 27.2 or Fast Forward. I could try that.

Thanks

Pull the size drop down, they have all different shim sizes on there. You should be able to use any size post you want.

I saw the pulldown chart, it has each of the sizes listed only one time. So if it says 32.4 then that means the shim fits a 27.2 post to fit in a 32.4 hole. What I would rather have is a shim that allows a 31.6 post to work a 32.4 hole.

I don’t think anyone makes one. You can make your own, you need 0.4 mm shim stock. A beer can may work.

This place seems to have one that would (might?) work… http://fairwheelbikes.com/use-seatpost-shim-p-1235.html

That should do it.

That’s it, Thanks
