3 weekends, 100 miles of breakaways Pogi vs Pro Peloton 3 wins

Between UCI Montreal, UCI Worlds Zurich, and this last weekend’s Giro Della’ Emilia the rough math was 22km in Montreal, 100km at Zurich and 37 km at Emilia where Pogi took off and toyed with the best riders in the world. All of this in a span of 21 days.

He did have a break after the Tour while others rode a the Olympics and Giro, but that’s still pretty darn dominant.

Roughly adding it all up, the guy rode the peloton off his wheels for 100 miles to finish lines. Jacky Durand and Jen Voigt must like that, but those guys almost always got caught and just had TV time!!!

(its been over a day since the last win, so hopefully everyone who wanted to view after the event has caught up on viewing).

Well we can make it 4 weekends 4 wins and add 50 kilometers to the breakaway total, so that’s 210 km out riding the peloton.

Here is a cut and paste from cyclingnews.com

There’s not a huge amount of post-race analysis to be done here. There was a big, strong, and pretty interesting breakaway that formed after a hard first couple of hours, but UAE had the strength to neutralise its threat, and from there the race played out according to the script - effectively a lead-out for Pogacar’s take-off on the Sormano. No one even considered following, such was the air of inevitability of it all, and for nearly 50km we watched the gap grow out and the suspense drain away. The gulf in class is staggering, really, but what some of these races lack in proper competition is redressed by the sight of history being made in front of our eyes. The Merckx comparisons are still premature, but it’s heading that way…
