3 Ironman in 1 year training?

How far apart are they? I’ve done 4 in one year with 3 being in a 6 week period so it can be done but is not a fun time by any means. The hardest part is staying healthy and injury free. Adding more recovery and making sure stretching and low intensity weight training helped me.

I’ve not seen one like that. I can design one for you. LMK if you want to go that route

Just an FYI in case you weren’t aware, the 12 IM requirement is:

“Must have participation history with IRONMAN of 12 or more years (consecutive years not required)
The clock for the 12 years of IRONMAN branded participation history will start with an athlete’s first IRONMAN branded 70.3 or full-distance 140.6 triathlon finish as an individual. Your first race must be at least 12 years prior to your application”

So if you did your first 70.3 or 140.6 IM in 2023 (I’m not sure if that’s the case but using it as an example), no matter how quickly you completed 12 IM the soonest you could be eligible for Kona would be 2035.

In case that helps you decide to not race as many in a year to get to 12, or if you love the challenge of doing that many in a year, carry on!

Way to crush his dreams…

I feel like I’d do as much easy volume as I could and do relatively little intensity if this was the goal. At the very least, most intensity would be limited to the pool, big bike volume, and as much run volume as you can do without getting hurt.

He could become a pro, get in that way.

Must be a newer rule. I hit 12 after 4 years and was eligible (before covid)
