Let me hear what those of you that have used them or own them think. Thanks
I have a V-1. Not a fan, but that’s just me. I find some other brands work better for me.
I have a R2! Every time I put it on I think it’s too tight but once I get in the water swimming, it rearranges itself on my body and fits great!
I have an E:2. Works well for me. I like it.
I just got a V2 coming from a BlueSeventy Energie, the price on the V2 was just too good to pass up. The suit fits pretty snug but does readjust well once it is wet. So far so good, I found that the suit goes on and comes off so much easier than the BlueSeventy which is nice in transition, I also like the ribbing on the forearms for a more paddle like pull.
I get burns/bites from wetsuits and continued to do so with this suit which I am sure is a stroke flaw not suit related.
Good luck
I’ve torn my Project X:2 along the stitching twice in the last 3 weeks. The second time was about 2 mins before the start at ITU Worlds in Auckland. Needless to say I wasn’t happy. The suit is going back and 2XU are replacing it, hopefully the workmanship is better on this one.
I have a ST:3, i don’t have a lot of experience with other suits to compare, but i have no complaints about the quality.
I’ve got a 2011 X1. I was a bit chubbier than I am today when I bought it, and I was right between sizes at the time. Now I have to maybe size down one size since I tend to need to gather it a bit in the lower back to prevent cavities, but otherwise it’s been good. No workmanship issues. Two minor tears, both repaired. It was worth about 10"/100m in a pool test for me (~1:45/100m sans X1 to ~1:35/100m with X1 on long sustained efforts), but I fully admit to having poor body position, so the flotation really helps me.

I love mine. I’m female and on the lean side with a longer inseam. Mine fits like a glove. I don’t even need to worry about chafing at the neck.
I’ve had one small tear this year, but repaired it. After struggling with fit on other brands, I’ve been a happy customer.
2011 Project X1 (Medium Solid) with a few tears but nothing too serious and easily fixed.
Amazing quality and very reliable. Treat it right and it will be your best friend.
You will float and if you choose this model, the arm panels will help you scoop better.
If you are a lazy swimmer with 2 heavy anchors like me then you will love it.
It is about 05 to 10 seconds/100m.
Try it on if you can first. I would suggest to go with feel rather than just price or brand.
I have a V1 wetsuit and it tore along both shoulder seams within the first year. I’ve had to repair it with a repair kit after each swim. I won’t be purchasing another 2XU wetsuit.
I have the 2012 v2: velocity. As soon as I tried it on I knew I would love it. I previously had the aquasphere racer pro. The velocity is a world of difference: so is the price tag. I used it for a good bunch of ows practice along with 2 HIM and 1 IM this season. I have no tears, and in a race I am NOT very gentle taking it off… I find that it fits very snug as many have said, but once swimming it really sets into the right place. I also like how the legs arent too long; I like mine to sit a little higher, not down to the ankles. One thing you may notice if you try on the high end 2xu suits is that the neck can seem very stiff compared to others. This didn’t bother me, i actually like it as it keeps the water out. Also, I think it looks pretty neat also. They didn’t go overboard with colors or designs; I am a fan of the symmetric stripes.
On another note, my brother has the nineteen rogue, same price, and he also loves that. I was going to try one as well, but the sizing was off for me, the small was kind of big in places whereas the 2xu fit my build better… But as my brother could vouche, the rogue is great also!
Best of luck with you decision, and if you want anymore feedback about the 2xu, let me know!
the V1 is the best suit I have ever worn!
I raced in V:1 last year and
a) it fit like a glove
b) Ultra fast
c) very comfortable
d) Stunning looking
I have this week “upgraded” to X:2 which to me is all of the above and just times ten (at least on price… hopefully also in performance )
I have never had any quality issues with 2xu products.
I have an R2, and I wear 2XU tri top and shorts. Fit great, and no complaints on quality.
Sorry to revive an old thread…for those of you that used these, how was the sizing? If you were between sizes on the height or the weight, did you go up or down?
I’m 5’10, 178. Kind of broad shoulders. Was thinking either ‘medium solid’ or ‘large’…
Thx!
Without knowing more about your body type (long torso, etc.), I would recommend sizing up if you are between sizes.
Definitely size up.
I sized down and am seriously thinking of selling my v1 and buying the next size up (a bit too short in the torso)
Otherwise, love the suit. Very fast and shoulders are very very flexible.
