Interesting. Putting aside the racing calendar of the athletes which neither UCI nor the ASO care about, what they DO care about is eyeballs and advertising dollars so there is no way the TDF will compete with the Olympics just like the TDF does not want to compete with the FIFA world cup, so I would guess the TdF is all done and wrapped up on that weekend for a max overlap of a few days.
If I recall the 2021 TdF ended the weekend Tokoy 2020 (delayed to 2021) started. I recall riders like Van Aert finishing on the Champs and purportedly catching a flight the same night to maximize time zone jet lag etc by gettting to Tokyo asap. Other riders dropped out of the last 2-3 days of the TdF to get to Tokyo however Carapaz who DID win the gold medal finished up the entire TdF too (3rd place).

Not quite - they moved the TDF to start and finish a week earlier than normal, so the Olympics started the weekend after the tour finished. The men’s road race though was on the first day of action, which was the Saturday after the last day of the tour.
I imagine what the TDF does might depend on when they schedule the road cycling for at the Olympics - if it’s in the second week they could finish the tour on the opening weekend of the Olympics, which would give a similar gap as they had in 2021
