So I am in the market for my first tri bike I had my mind set on a b16 but when Felt released the new info about the 2014s I got sorta lost again. The B16 is now going to be even cheaper but with a lowering of ultegra to 105 and the b14 now has the inherited DA frame for roughly the same msrp as older b16 models. Lastly through some sponsorship deals I am able to get a relatively cheap 2014 slice 105. I was wondering, for lack of a better term, which bike is better or are they relatively the same. I realize there are some component differences but I am more interested in the frame differences between the 3 and if the hidden brakes on the Felt bikes really make a difference.
Any opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated

Between the two Felt’s get the B14. It is a far better frame aerodynamically and from a fit/function perspective can be set up with a wider range of options.
was wondering if you knew how the slice 5 fits in there compared to the B14, or is this apples vs oranges. I assume the B14 is the superior choice but I could be wrong
well, Dave, given that he works for Felt, is happy to share info about Felt bikes, but given his position, it isn’t his place to comment on other brands.
the general wisdom on the Felt B’s vs the Slice is that they are two opposite ends of the fit spectrum. Felt’s having a longer reach and lower stack, whereas the Cannondale has a shorter reach and taller stack. Although - as Dave pointed out, I believe the new B14 has more flexibility in fit.
Without anything to back it up, I’d bet that aerodynamically the B14 is your best bet. But really, how your body fits on the bike will make more difference than aerodynamic differences of the frame.
Get thee to a fitting. or, at least a basic measure-up session to see what will work best for you. And then get the B14.
